Why Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the largest exporter of rice and a big importer of feed meal in Asia.
The country has 241 feed mills that produce 5.2 MMT commercial feed. The total demand for raw material has increased to 7.8% from last year to 19MMT. of which soybean meal imported from India, Argentine, Brazil and USA accounts for 2.6MMT
Vietnam is a big user of alternative products such as DDGS, of which imports have experienced 60% increase from last year
The country currently imports 45% of its wheat requirement of 1.05MMT from Australia, 24% from Canada, 17% from China, 10% from USA and the rest from Argentine and Brazil.
Vietnam ’s agricultural economy drives the country’s growth, and the country has one of the fastest GDP growth rates in Asia (3rd rank after China and India).
Membership of the WTO since 2006 has seen huge trade developments and a flourishing agribusiness export / import industry
